This is the web page for my latest model railroading venture - an N scale layout. I have decided to employ the Woodland Scenics Mod-U-Rail system to build this layout. First, I needed a track plan so I began to use the RailModeller software to layout the plan with Kato Unitrack. I decided on N scale so that I could fit a decent amount of operations in the limited space we have in our guest room. I enjoy passenger car operation so N scale is really the only way to go if you have a small space to work with. The Mod-U-Rail system consists of railroad modules that are individually built and then bolted together to form a larger layout. These modules sit on stands that are only sold by Woodland Scenics.
The first step was designing a layout that I liked and that met my operational needs. Here is what I came up with.

I started building this layout around August 25th, 2007. Here is how it looks on October 18th.
