I am a 7th year graduate student in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Florida. My advisers are Drs. Stephen Eikenberry and Reba Bandyopadhyay.

My thesis project focuses on the search for and study of very massive stars. In particular, I am surveying the environments of magnetars - highly magnetized neutron stars.

I am also an instrument scientist. Currently, I am working on the Canarias InfaRed Camera Experiment (CIRCE), a near-infrared instrument for one of the world’s largest telescopes, the Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC). For several years I worked on the optical, opto-mechanical, and cyro-mechanical design and am now involved in integration and testing.

Further, I am an accomplished educator with over 6 years of teaching experience. I have taught both undergraduate majors and non-majors in a variety of introductory and advanced courses. Throughout my graduate and undergraduate career, I have also played a key role in a number of major outreach events.
