AST 3018

11/5/98: The third hour test, originally scheduled for 11/12/98, has tentatively been rescheduled for Thursday, 11/19/98. In view of the fact that 11/12 is sandwiched between two holidays I plan on giving an optional lecture on that day, the topic yet to be selected.

11/24/98: After class today it was pointed out to me that I had omitted adding the extra credit to the test scores. Since my recollection is that most everyone got it right, I have simply added 3 pts to the posted scores as of today. BTW, the curve was originally 18 pts, not 15 as I said in class. On a different subject, we need to be thinking about alternative scheduling for the final unless a majority wish to keep it at 7:30 a.m.

11/30/98: Please note that the grades from the last problem set (#5) are now posted. Also, the solutions to the third hour test and Problem Set 5 are posted on the wall opposite my office. Lastly, I plan to give over the last part of the double period tomorrow (12/1) to the student evaluation, so if you want to get in your licks be sure to show up!

12/1/98: The solutions to Problem Set 5 and Hour Test 3 have been taken down because the walls are being painted. As soon as the painting is complete and the paint has dried sufficiently they will be re-posted.

12/3/98: The final exam in this course has been tentatively scheduled for Mon., Dec 14 at 10:00 a.m., the venue yet to be determined. If you have a conflict or desire not to have it changed please get in touch with me ASAP! The painting outside my office seems to be proceeding at a pace that can only be described as glacial, so I am leaving the solutions on a chair right outside my office door. BTW, there are now solutions for Problem Sets 3 and 4 as well as 5 and Hour Test 3. Lastly, it is with great regret that I inform you that I will not be teaching AST 3019; Dr. Lebo has been assigned that course. I have enjoyed the semester a great deal and wish you all well in 3019 and beyond.

12/4/98: I have reserved Room 407 in Bryant Space Sciences Building for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, for the final exam.

12/10/98: The solutions for Problem Sets 1 and 2 have now been placed outside my office. I commend them to your attention.
