AST 1002 READING ASSIGNMENTS

The date given at the beginning of each assignment is the date when the assignment was given.

8/26/08: Read Ch. 4 Sections 4.1,4.2, and 4.4 in the text. You might also want to skim Ch.1 for background, noting especially the definitions on p. 5. I plan to mostly skip Chs. 2 and 3, but you should read about Kepler's Laws of Planetary Motion on pp. 64-67.

8/28/08: Read Sect. 4.3.

9/2/08: Read Sect 5.1 and 5.2. Also, I'm happy to announce that we'll be having study groups for AST 1002 again this semester. These are peer-taught help sessions for students in different sections of the course. You can find out more at the Study Groups announcement page.
