Personal page: pictures
Below: pretty pictures of the total lunar eclipse, November 8-9, 2003. These pictures were taken by holding my digital camera up to the eyepiece of an 8-inch refractor in downtown Toronto. The air was not very stable, and broken cloud was drifting across the field of view. --------------------------------------------- |

![]() 8:36 p.m. Notice how the bright limb outside the umbra now appears clockwise of the prominent crater Tycho with its extensive rays, whereas prior to the eclipse, the bright limb was counterclockwise of Tycho.
