CanariCam
CanariCam is the mid-infrared facility instrument
for the GTC with multiple modes: imager, spectrometer, polarimeter, and
coronagraph.
The principal investigator (PI) of this instrument is
Charles Telesco, and its deputy PI is Chris Packham. As of fall 2008,
the team at UF has successfully completed acceptance testing of
CanariCam, and it is ready to be shipped to La Palma. Because of my
involvement in the integration and testing of the instrument, I am a
member of the CanariCam Science Team. The science team will have
access to at least
a month of guaranteed observing time at the GTC, which is granted as
part of the agreement for successful delivery of the instrument.
