Los Piratas

2008

To maximally exploit the T-ReCS and CanariCam guaranteed observing time, a team was formed, led by Packham to focus on the mid-IR properties active galactic nuclei (AGN) an their host galaxies.  The team has met three times (the latest meeting is shown above), and has representatives from the three GTC partner countries.

Through pooling the skills of instrument builders, observational (specializing in imaging, spectroscopy and polarimetry) and theoretical astronomers, and the use of a generous amount of guaranteed time, we expect to probe these objects with unprecedented resolution and resources.

The team consists of:

Packham (UF)    Levenson (UK)        Elitzur (UK)    Perlman (FIT)

Espinosa (GTC)  Colina (CSIC)          Diaz (CSC)    Alonso-Herrero (CSIC)

Mason (Gemini)  Radomski (Gemini) Young (RIT)   Roche (Oxford)

Los Piratas

Los Piratas pools the skills of an international group of instrument builders, observers and theoreticians to address the mid-IR properties of galaxies and AGN with unprecedented resources.
