
Meeting Minutes
October 14, 2009 - 7pm
We discussed several upcoming astronomy events. Two important outreach events coming up are the STARS Program and the UF Majors Fair. We also discussed the trip to Rosemary Hill Observatory. All information on upcoming events can be found on the Activities Page. UAS President Lance Legel also presented his research done as part of his astrobiology REU, which focused on the Late Heavy Bombardment, a period of time in Earth's history when the Earth and the Moon experienced extensive bombardment from interplanetary debris that formed the disk surrounding the young Sun. September 23, 2009 - 7pm
Dr. Anthony Gonzalez presented the AstroWall, a 3-D projection of the Milky Way Galaxy and the Universe. The show was a very nice show and there will be more opportunities to experience it later this semester.
September 9, 2009 - 7pm
This was the first general meeting of the UAS. We presented what the UAS was all about, a history of recent activities the UAS has organized, and an overview of activities planned for the semester. Subsequent meetings will be held the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month. Come to the meetings or refer to the Activities Page for up to date information on planned events and activities.
