Star Parties
See Calendar
Club star parties are open to club members and their guests. (Special event star parties such as the Kanapaha Moonlight Walk are open to the public.) Star parties begin at sunset and normally meet at Bob Jacobs' house unless otherwise stated. The club is also investigating new star party sites—dark sites within a reasonable drive from Gainesville (such as the Turlington farm). Other special star parties are announced under special events.

You do not have to know anything about astronomy or telescopes to attend AAC star parties! Also you do not need to bring a telescope! Club members are always anxious to help beginners learn about the sky and willing to share their telescope viewing time with others.
Regular club star parties are normally held on Saturday nights
with rain dates the following Saturday.
