The use of polarimetry in post-red supergiants gives information about their circumstellar material and their evolution. The assymetry in the surrounding material creates polarization of the scattered light by dust and electrons. Changes in the polarization is some times observed in such objects mostly due to changes in the geometry or the orientation of the system. Other possible scenario of the polarization variations on these massive stars includes the anisotropy of the star itself creating anisotropy of the radiation. In both cases, the correlation between disk formation in heavy stars and the cluster will give information of the cluster their evolutionary status.
