Installing RedHat 8.0 from network

• Grab this boot image and make a boot floppy (dd if=bootfloppy.img of=/dev/fd0)
• Put the new computer in DNS, Netgroup, and DHCP (all manually now)
• Boot off floppy, press return at 'boot:' prompt.
• Come back in 15 minutes. Reboot machine, set video mode using redhat-configurator-xfree86

Installing a SUSE 9 system from the network

• Grab a boot iso (either /astro/data/rupert0/suse90-autoyast.iso or http://mirror.astro.ufl.edu, or http://www.suse.de).
• Boot off the cd
• If using our SUSE 9-autoyast.iso then select "autoinstallation"
• If not, then select install and add the following options: autoyast=http://128.227.184.2/it/boot/autoyast2.xml install=nfs://128.227.184.7/export/software/suse/9.0
• Select "Yes, Proceed" when prompted.
• Come back in an hour and it should be all setup.
