Areas of Specialty

Exoplanet dynamics, Solar System dynamics, astronomical trivia.

Research Interests

My research seeks to explain the origin and evolution of planetary orbits through analytical and numerical approaches, and to relate the observed data to theoretical constructs.  I utilize UF's high-performance computing cluster for large-scale numerical projects, and have a keen interest in the secular and resonant dynamics found in multi-planet systems.  I am also interested in the evolution of the planets and satellites in the Solar System, and relating their dynamics to those in exosystems.

Biography

I am currently a Postdoctoral Associate who works with Eric B. Ford (see group page at http://www.astro.ufl.edu/~eford/exoplanet_theory/) on the dynamics and evolution of planetary systems. I attained my undergraduate degree at Yale University and I conducted my graduate research in the Department of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences at the University of Colorado at Boulder with Philip J. Armitage.  My Ph.D. dissertation is entitled, "The Orbital Evolution of Extrasolar Planets After Formation."
