El Cebreiro to Triacastela
We arrived at El Cebreiro, again separated into two groups, after a difficult uphill. Since the group of three
I was with set out to conquer the hill in the evening we had to really
run up the uneven terrain to avoid hiking it without light. Upon our arrival at El Cebreiro
we were greeted with the sight of a beautifull little village situated on the top of a beautifull
hill with a beautifull view... but completely transformed to satisfy the tourists! It is a pity but many
of the places which the camino passes through have been altered to suit the needs of the tourists
even the spiritual camino is becoming a market item.
At this location we had a good rest and spent part of the night soaking up red wine like three sponges!
This helped us very much since we had to sleep in a tent on uneven ground... the red wine made us sleep
like rocks.
The next day we waited for the rest of the group to arrive ar at El Cebreiro and then we set off to
Trias Triacastela. At Triacastela we met a friendly group of podologos (feet people) with whom we
shared some wine and conversed merrily. Good people helping the pilgrims.
