To help you understand and summarize planet group properties, make a simplified version of Table 6 ("General Planetary Properties") in your printed Study Guide.
Information for your table can come from class material, the Study Guide and your textbook.
An example layout follows but feel free to modify and embellish it for your own use. For example, I added a column to summarize extremes or interesting cases. (For simplicity and brevity, I abbreviated planet names.)
| Property | Terrestrial | Jovian | Plutino | Extremes or Interesting Case |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Size (Radius) | Small | Large | Small | T: PlEa; J:NeJu Twins: Ea/Ve; Ur/Ne |
| Mass | Small | Large | Small | Similar |
| Mean Density | Large (36 gm/cc) | Small (3/42 gm/cc) | Small | Sa less than water |
| Rotation | Slow (day or more) | Fast (less than day) | Slow | Ea similar to Ma |
| Oblateness | Small | Large (over 1/100) | Small | Sa most oblate |
| No. Satellites | None or Few | Many | None or Few | Dbl. Pl. Ea/Mo; Pl/Charon |
| Etc. (You Finish Table!) |
