Dr. Kirk Fuller’s  lecture course on light scattering is now for distance learning

Distance Learning Center at the University of Alabama in Huntsville  has added a new course in its Fall semester curriculum. This is a course by Dr. Kirk FullerMicroparticle Optics and Radiometry” (see the course outlines here).  Those considering taking the course should please contact Dr. Fuller directly by August 3rd for more details:  tel. 256-961-7799; email: fuller@nsstc.uah.edu. .  Tuition for the Distance Learning courses is comparable to that paid by in-state students. To learn more about the DL program and enrollment procedures you may also contact Prof. Phil Farrington (director): paf@ise.uah.edu

11th Conference on Electromagnetic and Light Scattering.  First Announcement

The 11th Conference on Electromagnetic and Light Scattering falls in the year of the centenary celebration of the publication of an epoch-making paper in scattering theory by Gustav Mie. It will bring together scientists and engineers from around the world who are actively involved in research into light scattering and will address theoretical developments and simulations, laboratory and field experiments, measurements and applications. The conference will be held on September 7-12, 2008 at the University de Havilland Campus in Hatfield, just 20 miles north of London, set in the lovely Hertfordshire countryside. The conference dinner, an Elizabethan banquet, will be held at Hatfield House which was previously home to Elizabeth I of England.
