The theory of the scattering of light by small particles is very important
in a wide range of applications in atmospheric physics and atmospheric optics,
ocean optics, remote sensing, astronomy and astrophysics and biological optics.
This book summarizes current knowledge of the optical properties of single
small particles and natural light scattering media such as snow, clouds, foam,
aerosols etc. The book considers single and multiple light scattering regimes,
together with light scattering and radiative transfer in close-packed media.

The first version of SScaTT - Superellipsoid Scattering Tool has just been released at http://www.t-matrix.de/
With this program light scattering by superellipsoids and other arbitrary shaped particles can be computed.
Scattering diagrams and the T-matrix are computed. With an additional tool not yet included in SScaTT using a pre-computed T-matrix
single and orientation averaged scattering diagrams, cross sections, efficiencies and the Mueller matrix can be computed.
Comments are welcome.

On Photopolarimetry in Remote
Sensing
Space is limited and there
are NATO regulations with regard to attendance; therefore all participation in
this event is invitational. The NATO ASI format is that of a summer school in
which approximately 15 lecturers instruct approximately 85 students in their
art. There will also be shorter contributed talks and poster sessions. If you
are interested in attending please visit.
