FLAMINGOS was began its NSF funding in April 1998. The bulk of the design work is completed for FLAMINGOS. By the end of the summer of 1999 we expect to have all the major components in hand except for a hybridized 2048x2048 HgCdTe array. We should have an array MUX in hand to allow testing of the electronics and optics by the end of summer 1999. It should have its first engineering run in the summer of 2000.
