MASTERS OF OLD AST 1002 TESTS

Last semester I initiated a practice of posting some of my old tests. I'm sure that there are copies floating around in a few places, and I've started posting them myself to level the playing field, so to speak. Below are links to various versions of the first hour test given in this course in past years. The list is not exhaustive; that is, it doesn't include every test given. However, it should be reasonably representative. You'll notice that there are similarities, with a lot of the same questions recurring. Do not make the assumption that those questions will appear on your test. Also, the amount of material covered has varied from term to term, so some of the questions may be on material that won't be covered on your test. In particular, in the past I've covered Chapters 1 and 2 of the text but I'm mostly not this time. Several of the questions at the beginning of the tests deal with that material.

Although I've been through all of these, it's still possible that some typos have slipped through. If you see anything that looks strange please let me know ASAP so that I can correct it if necessary. The QQ's and AA's are there because of the computer program that scrambles the questions; you can ignore those. When I make corrections or additions I'll let you know on the Reading Assignments Web page, so refresh that page frequently. When changes are made be sure to refresh that particular test page.

One other thing, very important: the correct answer is supposed to be the first one in each list after a question. Again, if you think it might be wrong ask me about it.
