Welcome to my homepage!

I am currently a graduate student and Florida Space Grant Fellow at the University of Florida.  My current research focuses on identifying and characterizing embedded clusters in the Large Magellanic Cloud.

Before coming to UF I spent a year (June 2009-June 2010) as an intern at the Space Telescope Science Institute completing research on the Large Magellanic Cloud star-forming region N 206 under the guidance of Dr. Margaret Meixner.  I first began this work during the 2008 Summer Program at STScI.  The paper detailing the results of this research was published in the Astrophysical Journal in September 2010.

In May 2009 I received a B.A. in Physics and Astronomy from Vassar College.  During my time at Vassar I worked at the Campus Observatory (from 2006-2008) and as the Astronomy Department Intern during my senior year.  Additionally, I was a member of the nationally ranked Division III Vassar Women’s Tennis Team for four years.

I was born and grew up in Baltimore, MD (see picture of Bmore skyline at the top of this page, taken by STScI’s Zolt Levay).
