In the image below, the frame on the left shows the sky at the start of the night November 19/20, 2003. On the right is the sky at the same time on the next night, November 20/21, 2003. The Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) are clearly visible in the NNE in the right hand image. This display (quite unusual for the southern United States - RHO is at 30N latitude) was underway at nautical twilight (23h30m UT) and continued until about 4h UT).

The Chiefland Astronomy Village Starparty was underway only about 20 miles from Rosemary Hill Observatory and participants there saw the aurora and took some images. These can be seen at
