Notes:
  • More precise scalings for each exam are now shown, as of 9 Dec

  • Pre-Final Grades Update: The above listing of scores for all course components (except the final exam) is given as a service to help you prepare for the Final. The rows are listed in alphabetical order. Look up your scores by your student ID. The columns listed are as follows:
    Column 1: your student ID.
Columns 2--3: your HE1 code, raw score (out of 33), and scaled score (out of 100). This is worth 15% of your final grade.
Columns 4--5: your HE2 code, raw score (out of 37), and scaled score (out of 100). This is worth 15% of your final grade.
Column 6: your Observing Report score, out of 25. This is worth 20% of your final grade.
Column 7: the total of all your Homeworks and Reading Quizzes, out of 100. This is worth 20% of your final grade.
Column 8: your aggregate score out of 70, combining all the above.
Column 9: your scores (out of 5 or 3, as appropriate) for your Extra Credit projects and/or reports.
Column 10: your modified aggregate score (nominally still out of 70), adding the EC scores to your aggregate.

  • FINAL EXAM SCORES AND OVERALL GRADES UPDATE: My apologies for the delay in getting these out to you: it was messier than I had expected.
The final listing of scores for all course components (including the final exam and Extra Credit projects) is given as above. The rows are listed in alphabetical order. Look up your scores by your student ID. The columns listed are as follows:
    Column 1: your student ID.
Columns 2--3: your HE1 raw score (out of 33), and scaled score (out of 100). This is worth 15% of your final grade.
Columns 4--5: your HE2 raw score (out of 37), and scaled score (out of 100). This is worth 15% of your final grade.
Column 6: your Observing Report score, out of 25. This is worth 20% of your final grade.
Column 7: the total of all your Homeworks and Reading Quizzes, out of 100. This is worth 20% of your final grade.
Columns 8--10: your Final Exam code, raw score (out of 69), and scaled score (out of 100). This is worth 30% of your final grade.
Column 11: your aggregate score out of 100, combining all the above.
Column 12: your scores (out of 5 or 3, as appropriate) for your Extra Credit projects and/or reports.
Column 13: your final total score, adding the EC scores to your aggregate (but still out of 100).
Column 14: your final assigned letter grade.

As you will see, the Final Exam scores were curved as with the two HEs. Apart from this, however, NO overall grading curve was applied to the aggregates, which averaged out to a solid B. Well done class!!

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: If you can't find your ID and scores, please let me know asap. If the listing shows a missing component of the course that you have actually completed or submitted, please let me know asap.

If you still have questions about your grade after reading the above, please contact me. It was my pleasure teaching such a polite and attentive class. Have a great holiday break!
