This work explores the properties of very late-type spiral galaxies, 
particularly bulgeless galaxies which we call simple disk galaxies. 
The studies include the report and analysis of the frequency of simple disks, 
simple disks at different redshifts, bulge-disk connections, the properties 
of disks in different environments, and the ages and evolutionary 
stages of simple disks.
