Infrared-selected galaxies, galaxy mergers, starbursts and active galactic nuclei, interstellar medium, single-dish and interferometric radio/mm/sub-mm observations, dynamical modeling and N-body simulations of galaxy mergers, optical integral field spectroscopy
My research is focused on galaxy evolution and the interplay between starbursts, accretion onto supermassive black holes, and their triggering by galaxy-galaxy interactions and mergers, across a wide range of galaxy mass. I study the molecular and atomic phases of the interstellar medium to link their physical conditions back to the ongoing starbursts and active galactic nuclei. Additionally, I use numerical simulations (matched to observations of individual systems) to place multi-wavelength observations in the context of the ongoing interactions.
I received my PhD from the University of Virginia in 2014. From 2014–2017 I was a FONDECYT postdoctoral fellow in Chile at the Universidad de Concepcion and the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile. I have been at the University of Florida since late 2017.
